HoneyChrome is a talented Pop artist whose mission it is to use music, dance, art and sound energy to heal the world. He just released a very dope single entitled “Boomerang” and it has been on rotation in our office for a while now. We connected with HoneyChrome for an interview to discuss the single, find out what he enjoys most about being a music creator in 2018 and much more.

After reading our exclusive Q&A with HoneyChrome, be sure to connect with him on his social media and stay tuned for much more great music!

Congratulations of the release of your single “Boomerang”. It is one of the catchiest pop songs I have heard in a long time.

Ah, thank you!

How did the song come about and who produced it?

I wrote the song to express my excitement/anxiety during a budding relationship. It was that time when you were still hanging on every text message, waiting for their reply. I produced a lo-fi version of the song and then Mike Rogers lent his experience and skills to the record, bringing it to the clean sound you hear!

Tell us about you ended up with your name “HoneyChrome”. Does it signify anything?

Yes, absolutely. The name HoneyChrome came from a dream. I had a dream about bees. Long story short – HoneyChrome was first used as the new name for my web design business, but it was only fitting to switch back to my given name for business and adorn the HoneyChrome moniker as my artist name. Read the whole story behind my name here.

If you had to describe your music to a stranger in three words, which ones would you select?

Expressing for humanity

Will “Boomerang” be a part of a larger release in the near future, ie an EP or album?

Yes. it is the beginning of a lifetime of work.

What do you enjoy most about being a music creator? And what frustrates you the most about the music industry in 2018?

I enjoy performing live the most. I am trying to raise vibration, consciousness and awareness through my music. The live shows are the ultimate way to connect and inspire. There will always be challenges in blazing your own path. Frustrating as that is, it is just part of the job. If I had to pick, the frustrating part was being confident enough in a production to release it. Without releasing music, there is no momentum. Once I started releasing music, the momentum grew.
